Control one spacecraft in an asteroid field in the multidirectional shooter arcade game Atari Asteroids while keeping an eye out for flying saucers. In this game, your goal is to survive while shooting the other ships as quickly as you can to prevent being sunk.
The arrow keys and the screen controllers may both be used to steer your spacecraft. You must rotate and use thrust to propel your spacecraft. But things don't stop here! Shoot all spaceships and asteroids, but use caution! Avoid being hit by the saucers' counterfire while colliding with the asteroids that are all around you.
As you blast an asteroid, it will shatter into smaller fragments. and they will float back to the sides. Avoid colliding with the asteroids that are all around you and evading the saucers' counterfire. Shooting each asteroid will reward you with 20 to 100 points.
As you get more points, the game will become more difficult. You'll get 1000 points if you hit the smaller saucer! Additionally, remember to use the Hyperspace button, but be careful not to press it too repeatedly or your spacecraft may crash. Are you prepared to fire some asteroid targets?
